Some Advice On How to Travel With Your Pet Bird

The first step before hopping on the plane or any other type of transportation (car, family vehicle, motor home, travel trailer, commercial airliner, vacation cottage), is to buy a travel cage that fits your bird. You need to acquire it at least two weeks in advance so that the bird gets used to it. Measure the bird correctly and also the cage. Make sure the pet bird fits into the cage and also has a lot of space to move around.

We have a lot of experience with pet bird traveling. We have a small Indian Ringneck called Sunshine. Sunshine is 17 years old and we adopted it when it was just a baby. He loves mom.

At home, Sunshine has: a 30 x 30 California cage, a large play stand placed in the dining room, another play stand in the kitchen and also an 18 inch long carrier.
